At Outokumpu in Degerfors, you’ll come to a high-tech, world-leading company with safety and sustainable development at heart. Our T & Q department is a part of Degerfors Operations. Here you will find yourself in the melting pot of the steel industry where no day is like the next.
In this role, you will work independently and in cooperation with your colleagues in Destructive Testing, Mechanical Destructive Testing, Test Preparation, and Manager Testing. Together you’ll conduct corrosion- and metallographic testing using multiple different tools and technology. Clear-mindedness and the ability to handle many data points at once are important, in addition to cooperativeness. As a part of Outokumpu, you will also participate in our continuous improvement initiatives.
This is a temporary, full-time position spanning over 6 months with a possibility of extension. Working hours are during the daytime.
Main responsibilities
Conduct corrosion- and metallographic testing
Documenting and reporting of test results
Controlling of equipment and work area
Participate in the investigation of complaints, deviations, and damages on our products
Cooperate with colleagues and other departments to improve Outokumpu’s stainless steel
When there is a need – conduct mechanical testing and examinations
About you
Completed 3-year gymnasium with relevant focus or experience/education we deem equivalent
Previous experience with material testing is valued
It’s positive if you have recent training in materials science and testing technology including ISO 17025
Basic knowledge of metallography and corrosion testing is a must
Fluency in Swedish and English (verbal and written) is required
B-driver’s license is required. Forklift license is meritorious
